Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville made it clear Wednesday what he plans to do with his goaltending in the postseason.
''We'll definitely be riding one guy in the playoffs,'' Quenneville said.
Whether that guy is Cristobal Huet or Antti Niemi remains to be seen. Quenneville supported Huet, who started his first game Wednesday since Feb. 5, when asked to name his No. 1.
''I think Huet is playing, and he's got a great chance to keep playing,'' he said. ''Sometimes you reflect back and a guy gets hot, you might ride him. But certainly we look forward to Huet to take charge here.''
Quenneville also said he expects to play both goalies during the final 19 games. He really doesn't have a choice. Neither has taken over the No. 1 role, and the Hawks didn't acquire another goalie by the trade deadline Wednesday.
''We're comfortable with our goaltending,'' Quenneville said. ''We feel that it's been winning games and keeping us in games as well.''
